Clayton County CAN! meeting next Thursday, April 25, 6 p.m. at the Freedom Bank Community Room, Elkader.
We need to open with a short business meeting as we have several issues to discuss but the main topic for the evening will be Frac Sand Mining.
We have guest speakers, Ric Zarwell and Jeff Abbas, co-founders of Allamakee County Protectors, who will describe their group’s efforts to regulate Frac Sand Mining in Iowa. A question and answer period will follow along with a general discussion of “Fracking”. As for the business meeting, we will be nominating new officers for our executive positions as well as board members. If you or some one you know is interested in any of these positions please let me know as soon as possible. We will also allow some time for general announcements of conservation related activities.
